Last weekend the film screened at Awareness Fest in California, USA. This exciting festival focuses on films which educate, entertain and raise awareness of issues that affect the world around us.

Tibet: Murder in the Snow has been given an Award of Excellence in Feature Documentary at the 2009 Accolade Competition in California, USA.

The Accolade is a competition that recognises exceptional achievement in craft and creativity within films that contribute to profound social change.

Help the Suja School students toward a brighter future

Director Mark Gould was recently in India and visited some of the students featured in the documentary.

They are coming to the end of their two years at the TCV Suja School. The students do not have many options for their post-school careers. They can go to a vocational school to learn a trade such as motor mechanics or cooking, which none of them seem keen to do, or they can go on to do further studies at a private academy.

Dolma would like to do an intensive English course in Delhi. But she needs help with her costs to cover accommodation and travel. Jamyang is a great singer and keen to see if there are any opportunities to study music.

We hope Tibet support groups around the world will purchase a Tibet: Murder in the Snow DVD and raise funds through screening the film to their local constituents. The funds raised will help these young people have a brighter future.

Rossland Mountain Film Festival screens 'Tibet: Murder in the Snow'

Tibet: Murder in the Snow was screened this November at the Rossland Mountain Film Festival 2009.

The festival, which includes workshops, photography exhibitions and films on mountain culture, was held in Rossland, British Columbia in Canada.

Kelsang Namtso Fund continues to benefit Nangpa survivors

The Kelsang Namtso fund, set up in honour of Kelsang Namtso, the 16 year old nun who lost her life in the Nangpa Pass, enables us to help those featured in Tibet: Murder in the Snow as they build new lives in Dharamsala, India.

Director Mark Gould recently visited Dharamsala and met up with Jamyang, Dolma and Soltram at the TCV Suja School.  We presented all three students with $200 each to cover costs over the winter break.

Lobsang Choeden was invited to Switzerland as part of a Tibetan delegation in October. We sent $500 to Lobsang to help with his costs.

These gifts were made possible with the money raised through the Kelsang Namtso Fund. Many thanks to all who have bought DVDs, hosted screening and donated thus far.

'Tibet: Murder in the Snow' wins People's Choice Award at Flagstaff

Tibet: Murder in the Snow was the recipient of the People's Choice Award at the Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival in 2009. 

Sally Ingleton was there to attend the event as was Luis Benitez, who hosted a Q&A at the screening.

The prize, awarded post-festival, is further testament to the film's power to reach out and touch its audience.

New Screening - 'Tibet: Murder in the Snow' goes to Colorado

The latest festival to invite Tibet: Murder in the Snow to participate is the Adventure Film Festival in Boulder, Colorado - further proof that the film continues to strike a chord with the global mountaineering community.

The Adventure Film Festival is a celebration of the outdoors, with a variety of films and its own Earth Day set up by the organisers. The festival also has partner events in Chamonix and Chile.

The festival runs from November 12 to 14, 2009.
